eParticipation & Democracy Workshop 2009 - Mar 09 - Lincoln

Councils from the East and West Midlands flocked to Lincoln to find out how technology can save taxpayers' money.

A best practice workshop, hosted by Ipswich-based web company A Recipe for Success (ARFS), attracted 35 local government professionals from across the midlands region.

The event was aimed at officers involved in organising and administering committee meetings - an area where online systems can result in real savings.

A number of industry experts spoke on how new technology is becoming an essential tool for local authorities to communicate and do business with their customers.

  • Webcasting Committee Meetings
  • Engaging the Public via Online Social Networking Sites
  • Moving to a Web Based Committee Management System
     

This is the fifth in a series of ARFS events bringing local councils together to share ideas and information. A sixth event is curenlty being planned for the North East in September 2009.
