ARFS launches City of Lincoln Council website
Date published: 20th September 2002
Reporting a missed rubbish collection or applying for a vote by proxy has never been so easy. Online forms - from reporting a missed refuse collection, to reporting abandoned cars, as well as registering to vote by proxy, are all a part of the new website of the city of Lincoln which was designed and built by A Recipe of Success. Some of the latest editions even include submitting planning applications online.
Andrew Taylor, Chief Executive & Town Clerk said, "The Council are pleased to launch stage 1 of our new website. It is particularly apt to commence electronic service delivery for the first time during 'Local Democracy Week', as the theme for this year's campaign is - the communicating council" He continued: "I should emphasise this is only stage 1 of a process of continuous improvement. The Council is aiming a lot higher in this crucial new technology of electronic service delivery and hopes, for example to be able to offer council tax payments online by Christmas 2002. This is a key area which is expected to grow very quickly as we become able to deliver more of the services people tell us they want delivered electronically."
The City Council's website has undergone a major transformation and now includes a revised home page and structure, together with a host of important new facilities. Visitors to the reception held in City Hall will have the opportunity to navigate their way around the site and comment on the capabilities they may like to see in the future.
The Site is 'Bobby' approved - the industry strength tool for accessibility for the visually impaired The Babel Fish Translator Service will allow foreign visitors or residents to be able to access the site as well.
So if you are interested in saving yourself time and effort spent on the phone or visiting a Council office why not log on to the new site at www.lincoln.gov.uk
