City of Lincoln Council go for e-forms
Date published: 20th September 2001
Creeping ever closer to the 2005 IEG target, City of Lincoln Council drafted in the help of A Recipe For Success to give the website an entire redesign, and to make it possible for visitors to have increased access to services, via their online forms system.
Lincoln Council were hoping for a deluge of insightful, revealing and informative comments and complaints when they made their newly revamped website live. And that's certainly what they got.
One of the first complaints to come through the website was a regarding dog fouling - a very popular compaint through the site.
And other comments and complaints have been genuinely useful. People have provided some excellent feedback on the website and what they would like to see on there. This has helped the council to give residents and visitors what they really want to see.
Residents can now also report fly-tipping and abandoned vehicles online, something that Councils all over the country are finding an ever-increasing problem. The advantage of an online form is that residents feel that they can be much more frank and open, remaining anonymous if they wish.
City of Lincoln Council sees access to services as paramount and A Recipe For Success has made the move towards putting all services online by 2005 seem far less daunting. By Christmas, the Council also hopes to make it possible for Lincoln residents to make council payments online, involving tenants and residents all the more in the implementation of electronic government.
