Colchester Borough Council
Colchester Borough Council started using the e-KIS content management system in 2003 to deliver a site that would provide e-government information to individuals, businesses and visitors. While the site continued to be a valuable tool for the council and its residents, it was felt a fresh approach was required for 2010!
Working closely with the council, the ARFS team identified a series core aims:
- Create an inviting, dynamic homepage, controllable via flexible administration tools
- Develop a much improved search
- Create a refreshed and modern design
- Reorganise content, making it easier for people to find the information they need
- Build a centralised A-Z facility
The new website launched at the end of October 2009. Its revamped homepage and improved navigation proved immediately invaluable in communicating important information direct to its residents - particularly during the heavy snowfall of December that year!
