Colchester for People
Colchester for People is a project run by Colchester Borough Council. Its main aim is to improve the quality of life for Colchester’s residents, by sourcing funding for various cultural projects.
What they required
Initially, the client wanted the site to provide information on economic and cultural issues affecting Colchester. However, once we engaged in capturing the requirements for the site, it soon became apparent that that it could do so much more for the organisation than simply act as an information point.
Our solution
We built a multi-purpose site for the client. Not only does it look good and provide the relevant information to Colchester citizens, but it also acts as a central point where all Colchester for People employees can store and work on important project information. Previously, this information was only available in Microsoft Excel spreadsheet format, which was difficult to manage and share. Our design has therefore helped the organisation’s workflow, and also offers an easy-to-use ‘traffic light’ system to indicate project status – whereby red means a project has failed, amber means it’s behind schedule, and green means its working to plan. All of this is now easily manageable, thanks to our e-KIS content management system.
